I have been going to jimmys now for almost a year, a friend recomended, im so glad she did, absolute quality fish an chips, not greasy , fair portion size, for the price, they are the best in the area, taste amazeing!!!

I haven't been here for about 10 years as not from the area and no longer drive this way. Had a journey passing with my wife and was reminiscing about how good they used to be and wondered if they were the same owners. Called in and yes it was the same owners (36 years). I have read the reviews and am gobsmacked a couple mention the lady servings attitude, she was really good and chatty. The Mrs wasn't hungry and said she would have "a few" of the chips. I also ordered the fish bites which are fantastic value for money at £3 for 5 pieces. The chips were absolutely fantastic with no grease left on the paper afterwards. The fish pieces were gorgeous and again no grease left on the paper. Had to get more fish as the Mrs found her appetite 🤣 Best I have had for an absolute age. Fantastic, thanks again.

Far and away the best fish and chips we’ve had in a long time. We had the fish in a box meal, crispy chips, fish was lovely and fresh not greasy at all, good flavour peas and gravy, and well presented in a tidy little box. Excellent service and value for money. Real good quality fish and chips. Really enjoyed

Hadn't been to Jimmy's for a while, but have to say, I've missed it! I'd go as far as say, this is the best chippy by a mile this end of the city! I've never had a bad fish from here, it always comes put of the paper without ripping half the batter off, never greasy, just lovely crispy fish! Chips were slightly darker than a typical chippy, but got to say they were fantastic! Best chip shop chips I've had in a long time, even for Jimmy's, they were outstanding! Not to take away from the food, but just want to justify why I've marked down for service / atmosphere, see below: Not sure why, but they still have a stupid covid barrier that's just a rope that stops you getting near the counter. Not sure if this is covid or to stop people sticking their hand in the till, but it just makes things awkward.
